What is SPAT?

Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Haryana has brought the Sports & Physical Aptitude Test (SPAT) for the award of scholarships and kits to budding sportsperson of Haryana. This is the great step by Haryana Government to give the great opportunity to the hidden stars. This is keen to create adequate income & employment opportunities. The main aims of SPAT are to popularize sports and channelling resources to high potential athletes. Those keen and interested candidates who wish to participate and want to show their talent via this platform are invited to apply. For participating in Play4India Scholarship candidates must be aged between 08 & 19 years.

Eligibility Criteria:

Open for both Boys and Girls under age group between 8 years to 19 years.
Participants from all over the state are administered Sports & Physical Aptitude Test, a battery of standardized tests. It measures one’s athletic potential in terms of agility, flexibility, endurance, and strength.
As per government policy, one scoring 75% and ranked in first 5000 in SPAT will be awarded for a monthly scholarship.

Events & Selection:

Round 1st of SPAT

In schools from December 2019- January 2020 (Tentative dates)

It will consist of three events only –

30 m flying race,
6×10 shuttle Run &
Standing Broad Jump.

Candidates who score about 75% will be recommended by the concerned school for the Round II. Sports department will conduct subsequent rounds on its own to identify top 5000 participants for the scholarship.

Round 2nd of SPAT

This round will be held from January-February 2020. (Tentative dates)

In this leg, all 7 tests SPAT –

30m Flying,
6 x 10m Shuttle Run,
Forward Bend and Reach,
Standing Broad Jump,
Vertical Jump,
Medicine Ball and
800M race – will be administered.

The department shall conduct the final round later on.

Final/ 3rd Round of SPAT

This round will be held from February 2020 (Tentative dates)

In this leg, again all 7 tests of SPAT will be administered. (Same as above). Scoring is age and gender-responsive.

Scholarships Under Haryana SPAT:

5000 Scholarships are on offer in SPAT for the aspiring athlete in 8-19 years age group.

Age group 8-14 Year Qualifiers will get Rs. 1500/month &
Age group 15-19 years Qualifiers will get Rs. 2000 /month.

How to Apply:

All the Interested & keen students need to apply via Online registration at Official Website of SPAT i.e. www.play4india.com. For registration fill the form and submit the registration form.

NOTE: Candidates may also do the registration via Mobile Phone. Now all the participants have both options: Internet and Mobile.

This step is taken as in Rural/Village Areas candidates are away/lack from Internet facility, the candidates can register their names by Mobile Phone.
