We wish to bring to your attention the list of Fake Universities in India 2023 declared by UGC. The information was released on its website, i.e. www.ugc.ac.in | Recently, the Higher Education Regulator, University Grants Commission (UGC), has come up with an updated list of Unrecognised state-wise Universities list and technical institutes & colleges not approved by AICTE. According to an official, “the aim is to widen the access to higher education and bring down its cost by using technological advances.” Many Innocent and irrational people or students are trapped in these Fake Universities and Institutions’ scams. Fake institutions attract innocent students using misleading, false promises and advertisements. Due to a lack of information and research about colleges or universities, many students are trapped by these institutions. So, UGC lists the names of the illegal and non-recognised universities every year. It’s informed that you please be aware and careful with these universities and be updated from time to time on the new list issued by UGC when you are going to join any university. We know that

Please verify and check the positive reputation and authority of such institutes before enrolling or giving any exam and admission. The mushroom growth of fake Vishwa Vidyalaya is a matter of great concern to the University Grants Commission (UGC) responsible for maintaining standards in Higher Education in the Country.
After due verification, the UGC has prepared 24 operating establishments as fake Universities. The UGC has also stated that “such self-styled, unrecognised Universities which are operating in contradiction of the UGC Act has been declared fake and not authorised to confer any degrees or qualifications”. According to the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, only a University established by a Central, State/ Provincial Act or an institution deemed to be a university under section 3 or an institution specially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer UGC-specified degrees under section 22(3) of the Act.

What are Fake Universities?
The term “fake” applies to an unrecognised or unaccredited university. Fake Universities stand for those institutions which are not approved by the regulator’s approval.
In India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) is the official body responsible for recognizing universities and ensuring that they meet certain standards of quality. You can find a list of universities that have been recognized by the UGC on their website. If you have concerns about the legitimacy of a particular university, you can contact the UGC or the Ministry of Education for more information.
In these cases, UGC is the regularity authority. These universities are likely as an institution class. These universities provide students With Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) courses in various subjects and schemes. But their degree and certificate are not approved by the Indian govt and University Grant Commission (UGC).
How to identify or check fake universities in India?
Following the UGC Act 1956 under the Minister of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, no university is permitted to run colleges without the approval of the UGC.
After due verification, the UGC has prepared 24 operating establishments as fake Universities. The UGC has also stated that “such self-styled, unrecognised Universities which are operating in contradiction of the UGC Act has been declared as fake and not authorised to confer any degrees or qualifications”. According to the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, only a University established by a Central, State/ Provincial Act or an institution deemed to be a university under section 3 or an institution specially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer UGC-specified degrees under section 22(3) of the Act.
The University Grants Commission Act, 1956, under section 22(1,) provides that a University can only award a degree.
- Established under a Central, State/Provincial Act or
- An institution deemed to be a university under section 3 of the UGC Act or
- An Institution is especially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer the degree.
Further, Section 23 of the UGC Act prohibits using the word “University” by any institution other than a university established, as stated above. Students and the public are hereby informed that t at present following 24 self-styled, unrecognised Fake Universities in India are functioning in contravention of the UGC Act in various parts of the Country.
* The status of ‘Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh’, is subjudice before the District Judge, Lucknow.

Although Shobhit University is not under fake universities but Its university status, UGC and AICTE approval are suspected. See at 23rd point in this link
Shobhit cannot offer distance education courses as, Since 2014, UGC DEB has cancelled approval of Shobhit University so it cannot offer courses in distance learning mode anywhere.
Shobhit University does not have AICTE approval. So a lot of organizations will not accept the degree from the same univeristy to be elgibile for any course or job.

If the UGC order OPJS university to show all the answer sheets of the OPJS university churu form 2014 onwards every thing will be cleared but I am sure they will not provide the answer sheets.
As joginder Dalal the Chairman of this university now the owner of so many benami properties and an owner of a tv channel named as oktvindia started in 2016 from the money collected from the students is not only a big goon and also planning of open such moe universities in the country as no one dare to complaint against him as he is doing all the activities sitting at Rohtak and if any one make a complaint about the university activities the police says that it is not under their jurisdiction.Some of the higher ranked police officer have also obtained the degrees from this university and this can also be one of the reason for not taking action against joginder Dalal who is not only earning one crore Rs. Shobhit University is not fake. UGC link shared by Rahul sethi above is of shobhit university saharanpur which comes under state private university and it got established in 2012. Shobhit University Meerut was set up in 2006 and is a deemed university which is among the best in India . So please stop being in doubt . Also UGC and supreme court asked NAAC to check 44 deemed university which were asked for derecognisation in 2010 and rate them if they can continue. Shobhit was ranked B by NAAC which means Good and C means satisfactory and A means Very Good. Only 7 out of those 44 universities which were questioned and suggested for deregonisation in 2010 has been asked to shut down and action would be taken on them. Shobhit university Meerut is not among those 7

Shobhit has both UGC and AICTE approved courses. By the way either one of them is sufficient. Shobhit University is anyday better choice than many other colleges. It comes under top 50 engineering colleges of India
