CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test which is administered by the authority named Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Earlier, the exam was being organized twice every year, but from now onwards CTET exam will be organized once a year. Lakhs of candidates appear for this exam at various exam centres throughout the country. Qualifying CTET is crucial for all the candidates who wish to become certified teachers in government or private schools. It is not easy to crack the TET exam on the first attempt, as most of the candidates take 2 to 3 chances to qualify.

- Plan: Plan preparation schedule by setting up the timetable, how much time you are going to give the desired subjects. Take the time in analyzing your ability. Planning is a good way to optimize your task.
- Prepare: Now it’s time to prepare what you plan. Prepare according to your timetable and days of subjects. You can choose the weekend for mock tests and can give weekdays for sectional tests for particular subjects.
- Practice: “Practice makes a man perfect.” For subjects like Mathematics, Grammar etc. it needs a proper practice. Practising will raise your self-esteem and will give you confidence in the exam.

Understand the Exam Pattern & Syllabus:
There are two levels of CTET exam; Level 1 for Primary Teachers (Class 1st to 5th) and Level 2 for TGT (Class 6th to 8th). both have different syllabus but the same exam pattern. Both exams will be offline on the OMR sheet. There will be 150 questions and candidates have 150 minutes (2.5 hours). There is no negative marking for the wrong answer. Try to solve previous year question papers to understand the pattern and exam style.
Focus on Pedagogy: Child development and pedagogy is a subject and will cover up the 30 marks. After that, each subject contains 50% questions from Pedagogy. So try to focus on pedagogy and attempt maximum questions.

Clear Basic Concept and Practice Mock Tests:
You must have clear all the basic concept of every subject. Questions will be asked from basics. Without learning the basics, you can’t understand the other concepts. Focus on child development & pedagogy. Also, try to solve short quick tests for each subject on regular basis. It will help you enhance the accuracy and understand the concept. On weekends, attempt at least 2-3 mock test series and analyze yourself and your weak areas.

Analyse and Improve your weak Area of study
By attempting more and more practice and mock tests, analyze your weak area of study. Analyze that in which subject or topic you are not doing well. Then focus and improve your weaker areas. Clear the basics of the weaker area while in your strong areas, you just need practice and practice.
Improve Speed: You need to have good speed to attempt all the question papers on time. To improve speed practice more and more question sets. Remember, only practising can improve your question paper attempting speed.

Study Important CTET Textbooks:
You should have at least one book for every subject according to your Paper for theoretical study for better understanding. Always try to prepare quick notes:
As you start preparing for your exam, prepare quick or short notes for all the important topics subject-wise. These quick or short notes will help you for quick revision of the complete syllabus before your exam. You can use a text highlighter for important points for revision. Make short tables and point to point notes for formulas, important dates etc.

Stay Calm & stress-free
Stay calm and don’t overload yourself with stress. Remember that, you can’t study under stress. If you try to force yourself while stress, you can’t memorize a single word. concentration and confidence are necessary things. Take a good sleep, wake up on time, will keep you healthy, fresh and stress-free all day.
Try to reach the Examination centre before time, so that you can relax and focus well on the question paper.
CTET Exam Day Tips- Do’s and Don’ts:
- Always reach the examination centre at least 1 hour before the exam.
- There is a plus point is that there is no negative marking in the CTET exam. Always attempt all the questions even if you are in doubt. Single mark matters.
- Don’t spend too much time on a single question. Always start solving the questions, you are sure about.
- Keep an eye on the time. Try to solve all the question papers on time.
- Don’t be confuse. Keep calm and answer the questions carefully.

We suggest you read NCERT books till 12th level for Maths, English, Science problems. Try to solve previous year question papers. For General awareness, read newspapers or monthly magazines. Although for better preparation, you some other books.
